Today I rose a bit later than the workweek requires, but was out the door and prompt to a massage appointment at 9AM. After chatting for almost an hour about an article on bodywork that is in my pipeline we got down to it. It takes some time to settle into a cooperative relationship, and on this, our third visit together, it was starting to really click. As I become more comfortable with my body, not to mention more knowledgeable of its makeup thanks to my education at work, it's easier for me to identify what is wrong, what needs work, and how to address it. This week in particular has involved much walking and standing for long periods in heels. A great deal of time was spent working the hips down, and the results were fabulous. No kid gloves here; when I said harder he went deeper. No more massages after 5 PM for me, I'm getting there first thing in the morning from now on!
Afterwards I floated into Stampin' Cat Studio, my favorite little store here in Salem, to pick up some new toys. The usual unguided impulse shopping meant to simply expand the mini-papercraft store otherwise known as "my room." Some acrylic flower shaped buttons in two colors, two rubber stamps and set of acetate cards. Next I popped into LifeSource, please to discover that their expansion is well under way and simply FABULOUS. Apace for wider isles, and MORE isles. (This is our version of Bloomingfoods--almost identical.) It was there I did not find the pizza dough I sought, but did find a curry dish on the deli that I took home for our lunch; while I said I'd bring home lunch it seemed sacrilege to pollute my newly renewed body with fast food which is of course what I normally would have done. So home I went with curry and flatbreads.
After a late lunch, I joined Scot in zoning on the couch watching movies for half an hour, then went to bed and took a nap. A 90 minute plus nap. Damn, that was sweet bliss.
Just a while ago, Scot urged me to look out the window; broken clouds to the southeast were trimmed in pinks, blues and golds after a day free from rain, if not a little overcast. Grabbing Winston, we went out and took a pedestrian turn around the neighborhood. An older gentleman who lapped us stopped to inquire about Winston's lineage and showered him with many compliments. A nice brisk half hour walk to keep the motor running... and now it's back to an evening of relaxing. Scot's going to veg with more movies, I'm going to write, play and hopefully organize this mess I call a desk.
