Ramble on!

2007 will be a year, like all the others. But more than before, I wish to pointedly guide the bow of my ship in a different direction. Difficult it will be; the changes are, in some elements, quite contrary to habits and personality basics that have been all I've known to this point.

Some elements of "the plan" are yet the latest attempt to do something I've wanted to do for quite some time. But what do you do when you fall off the horse but get back on? What other option is there?

But through difficulty often comes more satisfaction than the alternative.

Information

Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.

Hit PDX last night for another Lovetribe social, the monthly Yum! Awesome! Scot went with me; he's not totally into it, but he did meet some cool people and learned something along the way. One of my favorite parts of the evening was a late night stroll down NE Alberta. While I enjoy our low key Salem livestyle, I admit the hustling, bustling bohemien lifestyle found in many of the Portland neighborhoods seems so enticing. Yes, we'd not own a house, most likely, but the people, the community, the vibe... *sigh*

Despite a plethora of things going on around us, we decided to stay close to home, otherwise. Went to the Farmer's Market, headed out to EZ Orchards for some fantastic local organic produce and berries berries berries, including a stop at the Shortcake House for, yes, a huge bowl of strawberry, yellow cake and whipped cream goodness.

What has made me smile is that in the last 24 hours I've come across existing connection or made new ones with people at every turn. Friday night I ran into a woman I'd met the weekend before; we're going to meet up next weekend at the Country Fair. In Target I ran into a woman I work with. At the Farmer's Market this morning I ran into my friend Jennifer.

Feeling connected is so important to me, and it's starting to come about.

It was one year ago today that we pulled out of Indiana and headed west.

As [info]danielmc said, the infamous meme, as high school as it is:

There's at least 1 person on your LiveJournal that wants to date you or sleep with you.
So, let's play Friends With Benefits! (cue ominous music)

The rules are simple...

* If you want to date me, post a comment saying "I'm yours". (Okay, this one's silly...)
* If you want me to top/dom you, a "Yes Master!" goes a long way.
* If you want to top/dom me, post "On your hands and knees."
* If you just want to sleep with me and just stay friends, post a comment that says "I'd hit it".

All Comments will be screened... and shall remain private.
