That sounds like a name for a piercing, doesn't it? Well it's not, it's something pretty cool...

Thanks to Jon for the suggestion of using black as the backgrop for the glass. I'm using a black piece of craft foam; it has a slight texture that seems appealing, to me. I think it's a winner. This is a quick shot without adjustment in the box or digital touchup. It really catches the shine, the bubbles, everything.
I want to soften the light from the side, and add a light from the top. This is going to make any silver work just POP.
The problem I'm having now is an odd miss-match between the color profiles in Photoshop when writing out JPG files. WORKING in Photoshop looks great. When I do a Save... it must be somehow using another profile, because I get a pretty profound shift, and is shows up right in the Save for web window. For work destined for the screen, I use Photoshop's "Web Graphics Default" for color management. I took the time to set a scheme up manually using sRGB IEC61966-2.1 including converting all files to that space when opening, but the problem remains. No such problem when saving PNG files. Huh. Found a few "how to fix this problem" type blog posts, but none of those get rid of it either. Pisser.
