Camping!

This weekend we stayed at Nehalem Bay State Park, someplace it seems not a single soul in Salem has ever heard of, including avid campers. It's a lovely state park, really, with easy beach access, and miles upon miles of beautiful coastline for the enjoyment.

This was our first outing in the Beetle. A packing challenge it was; by the time all the gear was in, we had crafted a tiny nook for Winston, just wide and long enough for him and him alone. Scot literally tossed him up into it, and he patiently rode there the entire trip.

Yes, it rained. Mostly at night, giving us time to walk, play, cook out, enjoy. If you can have that much fun despite being damp and freezing, just imagine when the summer weather really sets in!

Our goal is to camp once per month; we're thinking of going east next, some place a little less populated.
